I must confess that I was a little apprehensive when sitting on the plane, waiting to land at Beijing International Airport. Beijing is one of those cities where everyone who goes walks away with different experience and it is very hard to piece together a proper image of the place without going. For those that have never experienced it, Beijing is like no other place on this Earth and I thoroughly recommend to anyone who will listen that they should see it! The folks at CSA are a lovely bunch of people and were really helpful throughout my stay. They go to a lot of effort to ensure you have the best possible time, whether by organising great trips in and out of Beijing or when things go wrong (in my case, when my departure flight was cancelled). My accommodation was great and the area I lived in (Wudaokou) was a really vibrant, international area. So please, go out and give Beijing a go; it really is a place where you get out what you put in!
