中国海洋大学 Zhōngguó haìyáng dàxué, also known colloquially as 海大 Haìdà

Ocean University, founded in 1924, is one of the key universities under the direct jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education in China and is especially renowned for its marine science and fishery science programs, owing in part to its location on the beachfront in Qingdao, northern China’s premier beach city.

Ocean University has long stressed the need for quality training of its teachers and the importance of international and foreign exchange. Of the current teaching staff, more than half of the university's teachers have visited foreign countries either as students, visiting scholars or guest lecturers. The university itself has established cooperative and exchange relationships with more than 50 universities and research institutions in 25 foreign countries, including the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom and the University of Western Australia.

Qingdao Ocean University offers something that very few can match: a classroom with a view! Located on a hillside overlooking the Qingdao beachfront and the Yellow Sea, Qingdao Ocean University is a really nice place to study, especially in the spring, summer and fall months when the weather is warm. If you are looking to combine your studies with kite-surfing and sun-lounging in the afternoon, washed down with an ice-cold Tsingtao beer, then look no further than Qingdao Ocean.
